Highway 12 Wine Flight
2016 Highway 12 Sauvignon Blanc
While the wine was mostly fermented and aged in stainless steel we set aside a small lot for barrel fermentation and barrel aging, all neutral. The result is a wine exhibiting vibrant flavors of melon, guava and apricot with a shiny, bright finish. Vineyard selection here shows why Sonoma Sauvignon Blanc can be so rewarding.
2016 Highway 12 Carneros Chardonnay
Always from the prestigious growing region of Los Carneros, the is 2015 vintage brings us a bright and balanced Chardonnay. A harmony between acidity and bright fruit, this wine shows us upfront tropical notes and lemon zest, with a mid palate of nectarine and a smooth finish of flint-like minerality. This is a complex, well-rounded example of when exceptional vineyards meet outstanding winemaking.
2015 Highway 12 Cabernet
The 2015 release showcases when depth, strength and elegance meet. Blended with 8% Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot, the wine was aged in French oak and showcases cedary overtones supported by the round mid-palate body and tingly tannins on the edge of the finish. Entry exhibits soft earthtones on the nose with hints of cherry, blueberry and a vanilla-oak softness. Medium to full-bodied the wine reveals wonderful fruit ripeness supported by richness and a slightly chewy core.
2015 Highway 12
Our 2015 Sonoma Red Blend, aptly referred to as SRB, again delivers massive quality and structure in a bright and luscious Sonoma style. Some call it a crowd pleaser but we like to think this wine will stand up to and surpass most Red Blends in its price category...and even higher up the price point food chain.
